The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce hosted its first Asian-American Night Market in May at Industry City to celebrate AANHPI Heritage Month. Thousands of attendees flocked to Sunset Park, where over 60 vendors showcased food, drinks, and crafts from various Asian cultures such as Chinese, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Malaysian, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese.

Randy Peers, the Brooklyn Chamber’s president and CEO, emphasized the importance of recognizing the cultural influence that Asian Americans have had not only in Brooklyn but also in New York City and the United States as a whole. He highlighted the diverse Asian communities residing in Brooklyn, including Chinese, Korean, and Filipino populations as well as Southeast Asian representation.
