Celebrating 50 Years of Career Technology Education: Arcadia Valley Career Technology Center Showcases Diverse Programs and Opportunities

The Arcadia Valley Career Technology Center recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, showcasing the diverse programs and opportunities available to students from various area schools. An open house was held for community members of the sending school districts to explore the center and learn more about the eight career and technical education programs offered.

During the open house, Steve Pursley, the director of the center, highlighted the range of programs available at Arcadia Valley. He mentioned that students have the opportunity to engage in career-based organizations, such as the FBLA and SkillsUSA chapters. These chapters play a role in leading tours of the center for community members and elementary school students, providing them with valuable experience in leadership and teamwork.

One of the programs offered at Arcadia Valley is Business Technology, which teaches students valuable skills like using Microsoft Office programs, photo and video editing, web design, and basic business skills. Pursley emphasized that this program provides students with practical skills that are in high demand in today’s job market.
