The Southern Alleghenies region is home to a thriving small business community, thanks in part to the efforts of the University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC). As the center celebrates its 45th anniversary, it remains an invaluable resource for entrepreneurs looking to launch, grow, and succeed.
Jeff Boldizar has been a part of the SBDC since 1985 and now serves as its executive director. He emphasizes the importance of helping clients navigate the process of starting a successful business. Under his leadership, the center has continued to provide valuable guidance and resources to small businesses across Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton, Huntington, and Somerset counties.
The SBDC’s primary mission is to support businesses in the Southern Alleghenies area by assisting them in launching, growing, and prospering. Consultants like Terrence Anderson work closely with a diverse range of small businesses, including those in retail, wholesale, manufacturing, services, brick-and-mortar stores, and online shops. Their goal is to support the creation and sustainability of employment in the region by offering assistance to both new and existing businesses. Through their work at Saint Francis University’s SBDC center, they aim to contribute positively to economic development while also fostering a thriving business community in the Southern Alleghenies.
