Cardiff City’s star forward Isaak Davies is set to return to the Welsh club in pre-season after a successful loan spell with Belgian side Kortrijk. During his time at Kortrijk, Davies was named player of the year and scored 12 goals in 34 appearances. The 22-year-old is a Wales Under-21 international and is under contract at Cardiff until 2025.
Cardiff owner Vincent Tan also owns Kortrijk, which could have played a role in Davies’ decision to go on loan to the Belgian club. There has been speculation about transfer interest in Davies following his impressive performance in Belgium.
Kortrijk recently avoided relegation from the top flight by beating Lommel in a play-off over the weekend. It is interesting to note that Kortrijk is owned by Cardiff owner Vincent Tan. Two other Cardiff players, Sheyi Ojo and Ryotaro Tsunoda, were also on loan at Kortrijk during the 2023-24 season. The trio will return to Cardiff City for the upcoming pre-season.
