Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, a former Georgia Bulldogs basketball star, has signed a three-year, $66 million contract with the Orlando Magic. Most recently, he played for the Denver Nuggets during the 2023-2024 NBA season where the team was eliminated in the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves. With his championship experience having won the NBA Finals twice in his career with the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers, Caldwell-Pope brings valuable experience to the Magic as they aim to make a deeper run in the NBA postseason after being ousted in the first round of the 2024 playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
During his time with the Nuggets, Caldwell-Pope averaged an impressive 10.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He also shot an impressive 40.6% from three-point range, providing much-needed outside shooting for the Magic.
In addition to Caldwell-Pope’s move to the Magic, former Georgia star Nic Claxton has signed a four-year, $100 million contract to remain with the Brooklyn Nets. These signings highlight
