On Friday, the Browns announced the signing of offensive guard Wyatt Davis. In order to make room on the roster for Davis, the team waived defensive tackle Jayden Peevy. Davis, who is in his fourth NFL season, played college football at Ohio State. He was initially drafted by the Vikings in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Throughout his career, he has appeared in nine games for various teams, including the Vikings, Giants, Saints, and Cardinals. Last season with the Giants he spent on injured reserve. His grandfather is Pro Football Hall of Famer Willie Davis.
Peevy had signed a futures contract with the Browns last season but started his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Titans in 2022. He has played in two games for the Titans and spent most of 2023 on practice squads of both Titans and Panthers. The signing of Wyatt Davis gives a boost to Cleveland’s offensive line while Peevy’s departure makes way for him on their roster
