The Mayor’s Health and Well-Being Council (MHWC) is now accepting applications for workplaces to become MHWC Partner Certified and to be recognized as one of the Mayor’s Healthiest Workplaces in Austin for 2024. The Workplace Partner Certification program recognizes organizations that show a dedication to implementing best practices that enhance health and well-being in their workplaces. To become certified, organizations must meet certain criteria in areas such as nutrition, physical activity, tobacco-free living, health education, preventative services, policies, and programs.
Partner Certified workplaces will have the opportunity to compete for the Mayor’s Healthiest Workplaces Awards. The deadline for applications for Partner Certification and Healthiest Workplaces Awards is July 31, 2024. Additionally, this year, MHWC will also acknowledge Faith Community partners that have achieved health and wellness goals. Faith communities interested in participating can receive assistance from APH to establish and reach health and well-being objectives.
The MHWC was established in 2004 with the mission to make Austin the healthiest community in the country. Over the past 20 years, the council has positively influenced countless individuals and families by promoting healthier living environments and fostering a culture that prioritizes health within communities. As they celebrate their 20th Year Anniversary, they reflect on their impactful legacy and recommit to their mission of creating a healthier and more vibrant Austin for future generations.
