The Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is set to kick off on Wednesday, with a lineup of exciting events. The festival, known as the ‘Super Bowl of Swine,’ has been relocated from Tom Lee Park to Liberty Park this year in anticipation of drawing thousands of visitors.

On Day 1, attendees can enjoy Barbecue Sauce Wrestling starting at 5 p.m., followed by the Lighting of the Grill ceremony at 5:30 p.m. The contest will run from Wednesday, June 15 to Sunday, June 18, attracting teams from more than 22 states and five countries.

The Kingsford Tour of Champions, BBQ Alley featuring Big Green Egg & Friends, and four renowned barbecue restaurants will be offering delicious barbecue for attendees to savor. Tickets for the event can be purchased online for $25 or in-person for the same price. Single-day tickets are also available for $15.
