The City of Culture in the capital city of Tunis recently hosted the technology exhibition “ASPO” for radio, television, and program market. Organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) as part of the 24th session of the Arab Radio and Television Festival, the event featured 90 exhibitors spread out over 98 pavilions, according to a report by SPA.
During the opening ceremony, Moncef Boukthir, the Acting Minister of Culture Affairs of Tunisia, Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harithi, the President of ASBU and CEO of the Radio and Television Corporation, and Eng. Abdel Rahim Suleiman, the Director-General of ASBU were present. They honored several media figures and personalities with honorary shields at Saudi Arabia’s pavilion.
The exhibition showcased cutting-edge technology from renowned international companies that specialize in manufacturing modern integrated multimedia radio and television equipment. Alongside them were production and distribution companies for audio-visual content both Arab and international as well as providers of advanced services and technology. Also present were ASBU member bodies, television networks, private radio stations, and Arabic-speaking international satellite channels who took part in exhibiting their products and services in the software market.
ASPO was not only an opportunity to display new advancements in radio and television technology but also a platform to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to this industry through honorary shields presentation during its opening ceremony.
