Arsonists Causing Traffic Disruptions on Yerevan-Yeraskh Highway Faces Criminal Proceedings

1 min read

On April 24, criminal proceedings were initiated in connection with the disruption of traffic on the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway caused by burning tires, according to the Investigative Committee. The proceedings were launched under the category of group hooliganism as defined in Article 297, Part 2, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code.

Unidentified individuals moved Ford Tranzit, BMW X5, and Mercedes Benz vehicles onto the lanes of the Yerevan-Yeraskh interstate highway, Masisi section, and stacked numerous tires. These tires were set ablaze on one side towards Yeraskh and on the other side towards Yerevan, resulting in the disruption of traffic on that stretch of road for a period of time.

The police have been tasked with identifying the individuals responsible for this act, locating them and presenting them to the authorities handling the ongoing investigation. The committee stated that it will continue to provide further details about this incident as they become available.
