Liron Basis, a 50-year-old Israeli and former famous football player in Israel, has had his arrest extended by 40 days in the Presnensky Court of Moscow. He was arrested at the Moscow Arbat Stars hotel on May 29 at the request of Germany. Basis came to Russia from Georgia. According to the Mash Telegram channel, the Dresden prosecutor’s office accuses Basis of fraud totaling 26 million euros, alleging his involvement in 33 episodes of fraud as part of a criminal group.
During the court proceedings, Liron Basis maintained his innocence and claimed that there was no kosher food available in the pre-trial detention center, so he was limited to eating only black bread and drinking tea.
