Apple’s AI capabilities are set to take a major leap forward with talks reportedly underway for a deal with Google. This news comes after Apple announced its own free AI, Apple Intelligence, for its products and formed a partnership with OpenAI to enhance Siri’s abilities.
According to Bloomberg, Apple may announce a deal with at least one AI company, either Google or Anthropic, to strengthen its system. However, the report dismisses the possibility of a merger with Meta due to superior services offered by OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic.
Earlier reports suggested talks between Apple and Meta in March. However, it is now clear that no deal was struck following their meeting. Experts predict new features on the iPhone 16 will be a highlight of hardware sales boosted by Apple’s AI capabilities.
Apple Intelligence has already been announced for Mac, iPhone, and iPad and is expected to extend to augmented and virtual reality glasses called Vision Pro. While work continues on incorporating AI into these devices, there are no plans for an immediate merger this year according to Bloomberg.
