According to the MacRumors website, Apple’s list of ‘vintage’ and obsolete products now includes the iPhone X, first generation of AirPods, and the first HomePod. These items have been discontinued for more than five years but less than seven years, meaning that while they are still eligible for technical support at Apple stores, they will only receive support for another two years before being completely abandoned by the company.
The iPhone X, released in 2017, marked a significant milestone in Apple’s history as it celebrated its tenth anniversary of the flagship phone. It introduced new features such as Face ID facial recognition system and removed the Home button. The AirPods and HomePod, released in 2016, were also popular products that have now reached the end of their official Apple support.
As technology continues to evolve rapidly, gadgets and smartphones quickly become obsolete as new innovations are introduced. Despite their once-revolutionary features, the iPhone X, AirPods, and HomePod are now classified as ‘vintage’ by Apple, signaling the passage of time in the ever-changing tech industry.
