In a thrilling final chase, Alessandra Keller emerged victorious in the short track race held in Nové Město na Moravě, defeating Pauline Ferrand Prevot. The race, consisting of seven laps in the Czech Republic, was filled with excitement due to its technical route. Despite initially shaking things up by crashing on the second lap, Puck Pieterse of Alpecin-Deceuninck regained momentum and finished in fifth place overall.
As the race neared its conclusion, Keller showcased her strength by taking the lead and launching an attack from the front. Despite setting her fastest lap in the process, she was pursued by Ferrand Prevot, who led a small group in a final chase during the last lap. However, Ferrand Prevot was unable to catch Keller, ultimately settling for second place. Hayley Batten of Specialized Factory Racing rounded out the podium placements.
Keller credited her strategy for her successful outcome and revealed that her boyfriend had advised her to attack with two laps remaining. She executed this plan by creating a gap downhill and giving her all to maintain her lead. Reflecting on his victory, Keller expressed satisfaction at overcoming the difficulties and securing the win. She described the experience as “super sweet” and expressed gratitude for the support that propelled her to victory.
