On a Wednesday, Arlington County police were kept busy with two separate reported armed robberies. The first incident occurred near the Rosslyn Metro station at a McDonald’s restaurant around 2:30 p.m. A woman, armed with a pink gun, demanded food before fleeing the scene on foot with stolen items. Police were able to locate and arrest the suspect without incident at Wilson Boulevard and N. Fort Myer Drive. The suspect was found with a toy gun and suspected narcotics and was later identified as a 23-year-old trans woman who had been reported missing in D.C.
Later that same day, another armed robbery was reported at a therapeutic massage business on N. Randolph Street in Ballston. A man entered the business and stole cash from the register while brandishing a stun gun. Two employees were injured during the incident, but their injuries were not life-threatening. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was described as a man between 25-30 years of age.
Both incidents resulted in investigations by the Arlington County Police Department, with the suspects facing charges of robbery and other related offenses. Despite the alarming nature of the robberies, no serious injuries were reported and both suspects were taken into custody by law enforcement. The quick response and apprehension of the suspects demonstrated the effectiveness of the police department in dealing with criminal activities within the community, showing that they are always ready to protect their community from any danger that may arise.
