In Columbus, Piedmont Regional hosts Safe Kids Columbus which is focused on ensuring the safety of the community’s children. For the past five years, Academy Sports and Outdoor has generously contributed $5,000 worth of life jackets to Safe Kids Columbus. This year’s donation brings the total value of items donated by Academy Sports and Outdoors to over $25,000.
The new life jackets will be utilized in promoting community safety in the water during the upcoming summer months. Safe Kids Columbus is hosting its annual River Savvy Kids event this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Blanton Creek Campground in Hamilton. The event aims to educate children about river safety, with each child attending receiving a free life jacket. The pirate-themed event encourages children to wear costumes as they participate in activities aimed at promoting water safety.
