In New York, 353 ballerinas gathered to break the world record for the most dancers en pointe simultaneously. The event, organized by Youth America Grand Prix, took place at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. These dancers surpassed the previous record of 306 participants, all of whom stayed on their toes for a full minute.
Ballet dancers must undergo years of training to perfect pointe technique. This requires strength and conditioning to keep their feet and ankles healthy while standing on the tips of their toes. An official Guinness World Records representative was present to oversee the event and declare it a success.
Amanda Toledo, a 13-year-old participant from the United States, expressed her excitement about the achievement. She felt proud and shocked at the announcement, which recognized her hard work and dedication to her craft. The participants came from various countries around the world, including Japan, China, Germany, Portugal, as well as many American cities.
