The 2024 World Supercross Championship calendar has been released, featuring four rounds in three cities, with one doubleheader in Perth, Australia. The season will kick off in Vancouver, Canada on October 26, followed by the Perth rounds on November 23 – 24, and concluding in Abu Dhabi on Yas Island on December 4. The Abu Dhabi round will coincide with the Formula 1 season finale, which is scheduled for December 8.
One of the top contenders for the championship in 2024 is Ken Roczen, who plans to return from a season-ending injury in the Monster Energy Supercross Series. Roczen has won the championship for the past two years, beating Joey Savatgy both times. In 2022, Vince Friese finished third, while Dean Wilson took the final spot on the podium in 2023.
Each round of the World Supercross Championship includes qualification, heats, a Superpole session to determine gate picks, and a main event. In recent seasons, riders like Eli Tomac and Joey Savatgy have dominated races across different locations and continents. However, this year’s calendar features only four rounds instead of six as planned earlier due to various reasons such as logistical difficulties and unforeseen circumstances like injuries or illnesses that may affect riders’ performance.
