The 2024 World Nature Photography Awards celebrated the beauty and diversity of our planet’s natural world. Photographers from all corners of the globe submitted their work, showcasing stunning images that captured the essence of nature.
The competition received entries from six continents and a panel of judges carefully selected the winning photos across various categories, including Underwater, People and Nature, Plants and Fungi, and Animal Portraits. One of the standout images that won the grand prize was a photo of gannets fighting over a fish in the Shetland Islands.
In addition to recognizing outstanding photography skills, the World Nature Photography Awards team planted a tree for every photo submission received and for every print sold of a winning photo. This initiative aimed to promote sustainability and raise awareness about the climate crisis and its impact on nature.
Tracy Lund, this year’s winner, earned the title of World Nature Photographer of the Year and received a $1,000 cash prize. Through their powerful photography, these talented individuals brought attention to the wonders of nature and the urgent need for conservation efforts.
