The 2024 Tour de France is off to a fast start, with Romain Bardet from France leading overall for the Yellow Jersey after just one day of racing. Bardet completed stage 1 in a time of 5:07:12, with Frank van den Broek from the Netherlands hot on his heels, just four seconds behind. Wout van Aert from Belgium is in third place, but only 11 seconds behind Bardet. Tadej Pogacar from Slovenia and Maxim van Gils from Belgium are tied in fourth place, all 15 seconds behind Bardet.
Meanwhile, in the sprinters’ competition for the Green Jersey, it’s Frank van den Broek who holds the lead with 33 points. Romain Bardet and Wout van Aert are also contenders in this category, with 30 and 22 points respectively. Sandy Dujardin from France and Tadej Pogacar from Slovenia are also among the top sprinters in the race so far.
The climbers’ competition and the Polka-Dot Jersey is being led by Jonas Abrahamsen from Norway with 13 points. Valentin Madouas from France and Frank van den Broek from the Netherlands are close behind with 11 and 9 points respectively. Ion Izagirre from Spain and Romain Bardet from France are also among the top climbers in this category.
In addition to these competitions, there is also a Young Riders’ competition for the White Jersey. Here, Frank van den Broek currently leads with a time of 5:07:16, followed closely by Maxim van Gils from Belgium and Remco Evenepoel
